Landslide warnings issued for 3 districts

Owing to the prevailing heavy rainfall, landslide warnings have been issued for three districts, namely, Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya, stated the Deputy Director of Disaster Management Center, Pradeep Kodippili.

 

Meanwhile, four spill gates of Victoria reservoir and two spill gates of Thabbowa reservoir have been opened since last night (24), the Disaster Management Center stated.

 

Deputy Director Pradeep Kodippili further stated that cutting off the tree branches on either sides of the Colombo-Kandy main road will be carried out today (25).
