The Northern Province Chief Minister has formed the new political party with the intention of spreading racism, claims Minister of Sustainable Development, Wildlife and Regional Development Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka.
Speaking to reporters in Peliyagoda, the Minister also deplored this action by Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran.
He also stated that the candidate from the UNP for the next presidential election should be the party leader, if not he should decide on a candidate to represent the party.
Minister Fonseka said that he has deep respect for certain senior parliamentarians in Sri Lanka Podjana Peramuna and that he would welcome them with reverence if they are to join his party.
He further stated that disputes within the Joint Opposition are certainly an opportune situation for them.
Minister Fonseka also issued a challenge that MP Mervyn Silva would not be able to obtain at least three votes if he ever runs for president.
