
Restaurant Owners’ Association of Sri Lanka says that the prices of several food items will be reduced from today (29).
Accordingly, the price of a packet of rice will be reduced by Rs 10.
Price of Kottu and fried rice will also be brought down by Rs 10, while the price of a plain tea is to be reduced by Rs 5.
The Chairman of the association Asela Sampath, responding to Ada Derana, stated that the previous government had inconvenienced the general public by imposing heavy taxes.
He further said that this decision was taken with the expectation that the newly formed government would bring down the prices of essential goods.
