
New Secretaries have been appointed to twelve Ministries at the Presidential Secretariat today (30).
The new Secretaries received their letters of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena.
Hemasiri Fernando, who is the current Chairman of the People’s Bank and the Board of Investment (BoI), has been appointed as the new Defence Secretary.
Sri Lanka’s former Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Ravinatha P. Ariyasinghe has been appointed as the new Foreign Secretary.
New Ministerial Secretaries:
- Hemasiri Fernando – Secretary to the Ministry of Defence
- D.M.R.B. Dissanayake – Secretary to the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment
- R.P. Ariyasinghe – Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- L.P. Jayampathi – Secretary to the Ministry of Ports and Shipping
- K.D.S. Ruwanchandra – Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture
- B.M.S. Batagoda – Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy
- Padmasiri Jayamanna – Secretary to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
- H.T. Kamal Padmasiri – Secretary to the Ministry of Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Sports
- V. Sivagnanasothy – Secretary to the Ministry of Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Northern Development and Hindu Religious Affairs
- M.M.P.K. Mayadunne – Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic Resources and Rural Economic Affairs
- S.M. Mohomad – Secretary to the Ministry of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure, and Community Development
