Politicians’ criticism of appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister by the President shows the deterioration of the political culture, says SLFP General Secretary Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.
He mentioned this at a press conference held yesterday (30).
Speaking on the UNP rally held yesterday, he stated that such protests should exist within the democratic structure.
The way some opposition party politicians spoke against the President’s decision by misusing the freedom of speech is obscene, indecent, unruly and unethical and it shows the deterioration of the political culture, he stated.
However, the President in return has extends his arms to welcome all political groups to build the nation together, Prof. Piyadasa further said.
