71-year-old arrested with heroin worth over Rs 8 million

A 71-year-old man in possession of a haul of heroin valued at over Rs. 8 million has been arrested by police at Honnanthara in Piliyandala.
The suspect was arrested this evening with 700 grams of heroin during a raid carried out based on information received by Piliyandala Police.
The arrested suspect, a 71-year-old resident of Honnanthara South in Piliyandala, is to be produced at the Kesbewa Magistrate Court tomorrow (29).
Piliyandala Police is conducting further investigations.
