State Ministers & Deputy Ministers sworn in

Three non-cabinet ministers, 17 State Ministers and 7 Deputy Ministers were sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat this evening (21).

 

Several parliamentarians representing the United National Front (UNF) arrived at the Presidential Secretariat by 6.30 p.m. today for the swearing in ceremony.

 

Dr Harsha de Silva was sworn in as the Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution (non-Cabinet) while Ajith P. Perera was appointed as Minister of Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology (non-Cabinet).

 

Sujeewa Senasinghe was appointed Minister of Science, Technology and Research (non-Cabinet).

 

Eran Wickramaratne has sworn in as the State Minister of Finance while Vijayakala Maheswaran has taken oaths as the State Minister of Education.

 

Ranjan Ramanayake is the new State Minister of Highways and Road Development.

 

Meanwhile none of the UPFA MPs who crossed over to the government have been given portfolios.

  9. Lucky Jayawardena - State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply
  10. Niroshan Perera - State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs
