Husband sought over Sri Lankan woman’s attempted murder in Cyprus

Police in Limassol are investigating an attempted murder against a Sri Lankan woman reportedly by her estranged husband aged.
According to initial information, the 49-year-old woman was attacked and injured with a knife at the house where she is employed as a domestic worker in Zakaki.
One report said an argument occurred over the signing of divorce papers.
The woman was stabbed in the abdomen and the head a neck area with a knife, after which her attacker fled, the Cyprus Mail reported.
She is said to be currently undergoing surgery at Limassol general hospital. Police are searching for her ex-husband, 46, who is also from Sri Lanka.
