Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Central, North-western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Mannar and Mullaitivu districts, particularly after 2.00 p.m., says the Department of Meteorology.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya district during the morning.
The general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Sea areas:
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the sea areas extending from Batticaloa to Puttalam via Trincomalee, Kankesanturai and Mannar in the evening or night.
Winds will be South-easterly or variable in direction and speed will be (15-30) kmph in the sea areas around the island.
The sea area around the island will be slight.
