No decision to postpone elections - Deshapriya

The Election Commission has not taken any decision to postpone the general elections, stated the Chairman of the Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.
He mentioned this speaking to journalists in Badulla, today (13).
Deshapriya points out that firstly, all citizens should be safe from the coronavirus pandemic in order to hold the election on April 25.
Political parties have informed the Commission that they will not hold political rallies before March 26, said the Chairman.
He further said people should self-quarantine and follow medical instructions to prevent this pandemic from spreading in the country.
