Mahela to follow Sanga into retirement from T20Is

Veteran batsman and former Test Captain Mahela Jayawardene will retire from T20 internationals at the end of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh, sources stated.

The 36-year-old has played 49 International T20s in his career so far, scoring 1335 runs with an average of 31.78. He also has an International T20 century to his name as well as eight half-centuries.

This announcement comes just one day after Kumar Sangakkara stated that he too will retire from International T20s following this series.
