More than 2,400 including foreigners at 17 quarantine centres

National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 says that a total of 2,463 individuals including 27 foreigners are being quarantined at 17 centres.
The release issued by the National Operation Centre noted that the group of local pilgrims who returned from New Delhi, India have also been directed for self-quarantine.
In the meantime, Ministry of Foreign Relations stated that High Commission of Sri Lanka in New Delhi and the Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in Chennai, in consultation with the Foreign Relations and Buddha Sasana Ministries, are continuing their coordination and facilitation of endeavours for the early return of Sri Lankan pilgrims currently in India.
According to the National Operation Centre’s release, 81% of the Covid-19-infected persons in Sri Lanka are men while 45.2% of the total number of patients are aged between 41-50 years. As of yesterday, 59 persons had tested positive for the deadly virus in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi visited the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) in Angoda yesterday. She has reportedly looked into the treatments given to the coronavirus patients and the needs of the hospital staff.
