
Sri Lanka has identified more positive cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number to 70, says Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
As of yesterday (19), the number of Covid-19 patients in the country stood at 59. It was reported this morning that 6 new cases were reported and that the total stood at 65.
However, another 5 patients have tested positive for the virus bringing the total to 70. Therefore 11 new patients have been identified this far today.
According to reports, 243 are receiving treatment at hospitals on suspicion of being infected with the virus.
In the meantime, the National Operation Centre for Prevention of Covid-19 has stated that 2,738 persons including 30 foreigners are being quarantined at 17 centres across the country.
