Sachithra action to be tested at Cardiff

Sri Lankan off-spinner Sachithra Senanayake’s bowling action will undergo a biomechanical test at the Cardiff Metropolitan University, SLC said.
Senanayake was reported to the International Cricket Council for a suspected illegal action earlier this month.
On-field officials Marais Erasmus and Ian Gould, television umpire Chris Gaffaney and match referee Jeff Crowe reported the alleged transgression at the conclusion of the fourth ODI against England at Lord’s.
Senanayake will go in for ICC scrutiny at the Cardiff Metropolitan University within the next few days, Sri Lanka Cricket chief executive officer Ashley de Silva said.
“We have notified the ICC of our option and they in turn will reserve a date for Senanayake to attend the sessions,” he said.
The 29-year-old, who was the country’s leading wicket-taker in a three-two series win over England, will deliver a string of variations in a bid to prove the right elbow does not flex beyond the permitted 15 degrees.
