Two persons die at Mullaitivu quarantine center

Two persons who had been under quarantine at the Mullaitivu quarantine center have been reported as deceased.
Sri Lanka Air Force stated that the identity of the two persons, both over the age of 80 years, cannot be determined and are suspected to be street dwellers from Colombo.
Reportedly, one of the deceased had been receiving treatment for mental illness.
The final rites of the deceased persons were scheduled to be held at the Mulliyawali Kumarapuram Hindu Cemetery as per International Quarantine Regulations.
As the cemetery did not have a crematorium, the cremation was set to be done with firewood.
However, with objections from the residents in the area, the cremation had not been carried out even as of evening today (02).
