Seven more confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported increasing the total number of cases reported so far in the country to 804, the Ministry of Health said.
Director General of Health Service Dr. Anil Jasinghe stated that six out of the seven new cases identified today are navy personnel while the other is a person who had come into contact with an infect member of the navy.
As of 4.45 p.m. today (07), a total of 563 patients are currently under medical care at selected hospital.
Meanwhile the number of recoveries in the country has increased to 232 after 17 patients were discharged on Thursday.
The death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka stands at 09.
According to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, some 400 of the identified COVID-19 positive patients and navy personnel and those who have associated with them.
Dr. Jasinghe also added that a total of 1,147 PCR tests were carried out within yesterday (06).
