13 more COVID-19 recoveries bring total to 836

Thirteen more COVID-19-positive patients who had been undergoing treatment have made complete recoveries as of today (03).

 

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s recoveries count has moved up to 836, the Ministry of Health said.

 

The new recoveries are reported from Infectious Disease Hospital (07), Colombo East Base Hospital (01) and Minuwangoda Base Hospital (05).

 

The coronavirus-positive cases confirmed in the country hiked to 1,683 on Tuesday (02) as 40 more persons tested positive for the virus. The number of active coronavirus cases under medical care meanwhile stands at 836.

 

The Epidemiology Unit says that 559 of the patients reported in Sri Lanka are imported cases. A total of 771 navy personnel have also tested positive for the virus, however, 418 of them have returned to health.

 

Sri Lanka reported its 11th COVID-19 death on Monday (01) as a 45-year-old male who had arrived in the country from Kuwait succumbed to the disease.
