Election Commission set to decide on election date

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka is scheduled to convene a meeting today (June 08) to discuss several topics including the date of the parliamentary election.

A decision is expected to be made with regard to the date of the General Election when the commission members headed by Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya meet later today.

He stated yesterday that all decision pertaining to holding the election will be announced with the agreement of all members of the commission.
