Registration of coconut lands in the island made compulsory

The Coconut Development Board has announced that registration of all coconut lands in the island is now compulsory under the Coconut Development Act No. 46 of 1971.

Accordingly, only the coconut lands registered under Coconut Cultivation Board will be eligible for the project services and other subsidy programs implemented by the Board.

This decision has been taken by the Coconut Cultivation Board with the aim of keeping accurate data on the coconut lands in the island, preparing development plans, proper monitoring the productivity of coconut lands and conserving coconut lands.
