
Sri Lanka Navy says that 45 more naval personnel who had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus have recovered from the disease.
Thirty-five of them were being treated at the Navy Hospital and the remaining 10 were receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital.
As these sailors were found negative to COVID-19 on the reports of random PCR tests carried out under treatment, they were discharged on Tuesday (09), the Navy said further.
The total number of coronavirus recoveries from the Navy accordingly reached 608.
These discharged navy men will undergo a 14-day quarantine procedure in compliance with the healthcare regulations.
The number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka currently stands at 1,859. Out of this total 1,057 patients made complete recoveries.
Currently, 791 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, according to the Epidemiology Unit.
