The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has launched a special shuttle service for the patients attending the clinics of the Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama.

The bus service commenced from the 8th of June, according to the Minister of Passenger Transport Management Mahinda Amaraweera.

The shuttle service named ‘Apeksha Express’ covers all nine provinces, said the Minister.

This action has been taken in view of the difficulties faced by the patients who visit the clinics of the hospital due to the shortage of transport facilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reportedly, the buses will also include refrigeration facilities as certain medicine provided by the Apeksha Hospital need to be stored in minimum temperatures.
