Committee on irregularities in finance & leasing businesses meets today

Committee appointed to inquire into illegal activities of finance leasing businesses and unauthorized finance bodies will be accepting public proposals, recommendations, and complaints regarding the subject from tomorrow (23).

Central Bank Governor Deshamanya Prof. W.D. Lakshman, recently, appointed the three-member committee chaired by Director General of Legal Affairs of the Presidential Secretariat, Attorney-at-Law Harigupta Rohanadeera.

Director of Legal and Compliance Department of CBSL K.G. Sirikumara, Director of Department of Supervision of non-Bank Financial Institutions of CBSL J.P. Gamlath serve as the members of the said committee.

The Committee will convene at 3 this afternoon (22) for the second time, following its inception.

The details for submitting public recommendations and complaints will be publicized following the meeting today, said the Committee.
