Navy’s coronavirus recoveries count sits at 786

One more COVID-19-positive navy person who was receiving treatment at Kattankudy Hospital has recovered from the disease, says Sri Lanka Navy.

As this sailor was found negative to the virus on the reports of random PCR tests carried out under treatment, they have been discharged from the hospital on Monday (22).

The total number of coronavirus recoveries from the Navy accordingly reached 786.

These discharged navy men will undergo a 14-day quarantine procedure in compliance with the healthcare regulations.

The Navy has reported a total of 901 positive cases of coronavirus to date.


The number of coronavirus cases reported in Sri Lanka so far currently sits at 1,951. Out of this total 1,526 patients have made complete recoveries.

Currently, 414 active cases are under medical care at selected hospitals across the island, according to the Epidemiology Unit.
