Election Commission to meet today

The Election Commission (EC) will convene today (25) to discuss the measures that are to be taken with regard to the forthcoming parliamentary election.
Chairman of the Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya said the meeting will also take into account extending the span of the election process.
Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake meanwhile said mock elections are being carried out and plans have been chalked up to conduct the general election in compliance with health guidelines.
In the meantime, Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi said the gazette notification on the health guidelines pertaining to the general election will be published today, with the approval of the Attorney General.
