41-year-old stabbed to death in Morawaka

A man, who was scheduled to appear before the court for his divorce case today (26), has been stabbed to death last night with a sharp weapon.
The body of the deceased, which suffered a laceration to the neck, was discovered in front of his house in Morawaka early this morning.
The 41-year-old victim was employed as a mason and had separated from his wife several years ago, according to the police.
Following the inquest carried out by Morawaka Magistrate Shashika Mithunarachchi, the remains were moved to the Matara District General Hospital for the post-mortem examination.
The police are conducting further investigations into the murder to apprehend the perpetrators.
