20 injured as bus topples over in Omanthai

A Jaffna-bound bus, which had set off from Colombo, has met with an accident near the Omanthai Central College in Vavuniya, early this morning (27).

The bus had reportedly toppled over after it veered off the road when its driver lost control.

According to the police, 20 passengers have sustained injuries and 15 of them are in a critical condition.

The injured are receiving treatment at the Vavuniya Hospital.

Omanthai Police is conducting further investigations into the accident.
