Equipment, vehicle used in drug trade found at arrested ex-cop’s house

Equipment used in drug trade and vehicle used for transporting drugs has recovered at the residence of an arrested ex-police Sub Inspector, stated the Police.

Four officers attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) including a former Sub Inspector (SI) was recently arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department over drug related charges.

Interrogations of the said SI had led to a search at his residence in Minuwangoda and subsequently to the discovery of equipment and property used for heroin trade.

A motor vehicle used for transporting drugs, a motorcycle, Rs 940,000 in cash, a knife, 04 credit cards, a GPS machine, a satellite phone, and a SIM card with a mobile phone have been found at his house.
