Over 1,200 caught not wearing masks, sent for quarantine

A total 1,214 persons who were not wearing face masks in public places, as per mandatory health guidelines, were sent for 14 days of quarantine.

The measure came following a special operation carried out in Western Province yesterday (28), police said.

Meanwhile, a public awareness program on the importance of using face masks to a measure to prevent contraction of coronavirus is set to be held at Kadawatha at 03 pm today (29).
