Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen recorded a 5-hour long statement with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (27).
This was regarding the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings, stated Ada Derana reporter.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake recently ordered the former Minister to record a statement with the CID.
Accordingly, he arrived at the CID branch at the Iratperiyakulam Police in Vavuniya at 9 am this morning.
Speaking to the media following the recording of the statement, All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Party Leader Rishad Bathiudeen said that he, his family, or brothers are not connected to the Easter attacks.
He said that these recordings of statements when the Acting IGP has already informed the court of his innocence are done to inconvenience him during the election period.
