West Indies were dismissed for 163, 37 runs short of Sri Lanka’s score, at tea on the second day of the second and final test at the P Sara Oval on Friday.
Dhammika Prasad finished with 4-34.
Sri Lanka now lead by 37 runs and will now look to build when they come out to bat post tea.
Sri Lankan bowlers did a splendid job to fold the Windies for a paltry score of 163.
Dhammika Prasad was the star performer picking up four wickets for his side and more importantly picked up timely wickets, whereas the spin-trio of Perera, Siriwardana and Herath scalped 6 wickets between them.
Play was delayed by 30 minutes due to a wet outfield after overnight rain and Prasad made full use of the overcast conditions, bowling an impeccable line and length to extract movement off the pitch to trouble the West Indies batsmen.
After bundling out the hosts for 200 on the opening day, West Indies would have hoped for a solid start from their batsmen after resuming on 17-1 in the morning.
