A member of an organized criminal gang has been arrested last night (09) by the Kiribathgoda Police in the area of Aluthkade.

 

The suspect was identified as the driver of the notorious underworld figure “Dematagoda Chaminda” named Mohamed Farook Mohamed Rizwan residing in Makola.

 

Reports revealed that 5g of heroin, 05 mobile phones, 03 passbooks and 03 ATM cards were found on the suspect at the time of the arrest.

 

The arrestee is accused of aiding and abetting the shooting of “Army Sampath” on the 31st of July 2015 at a public meeting of former Minister Ravi Karunanayake in the area of Bloemendhal.
