Former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe have been issued notice to appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigation allegations of political victimization of public servants during the previous government.
The former President and former PM have been noticed to appear before the commission on October 19 to give evidence in relation to a complaint filed by former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga.
In addition to this, the commission has also issued notice on former IGP Pujith Jayasundara, former Air Force Commander, Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Gunathilake, former ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Ravi Karunanayake and MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake as well as other respondents named in the complaint to appear before the commission on that date.
Meanwhile former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka and Rajitha Senaratne had also appeared before the commission on political victimization today.
