COVID-19 not transmitted through cooked fish – Health Ministry

The Ministry of Health affirms that there is no scientific evidence that coronavirus is transmitted through well-cooked fish.

The Ministry of Health stated this issuing a press release today (25).

However, on the theoretical basis that the coronavirus can be found on any surface, one must not touch their face, and the utensils used for preparation and hands must be thoroughly washed when preparing fish for storage or cooking, the release read.

In addition, the Health Ministry emphasized that baseless closure of fish markets is not necessary, and they may continue to operate following the provided health measures such as social distancing, hand washing, and proper wearing of face masks.
