Institutions allowed to use office ID as curfew pass listed

Measures have been taken to introduce a new methodology for issuing curfew passes.

Accordingly, the Police Headquarters has issued a special circular regarding the issuance of curfew passes.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the new system will follow a procedure where the official identity card is considered as a curfew pass.

“This circular was issued considering it may be essential in maintaining daily life in case the curfew is needed to be maintained.

Accordingly, employees of 84 institutions, including government agencies, corporations, statutory boards, and the media, have been given the opportunity to use their official identity cards as curfew passes as these public institutions need to operate on a regular basis.

However, if certain employees are from a high-risk, the heads of institutions should take measures not to ask them to report for duty. Further, instead of bringing in all the employees of the company on the same day, it should be pre-planned to bring in only some of the employees on specific days of a week.”

The DIG requests the public to use their official identity cards only for official purposes and not for personal errands.

Meanwhile, a list of institutions allowed to use their official identity card as a curfew pass has been issued:
