Second inter monsoon conditions will gradually establish over the country within the next few days, the Department of Meteorology says.
Hence, thundershowers accompanied by lightning are likely to occur, particularly during the evening or night.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in North-central, Eastern, Uva, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Hambantota, Mannar, Vavuniya and Kurunegala districts after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places.
Sea areas:
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Mannar, Kankesanturai, Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
Winds will be Westerly or variable in the sea areas around the island. Winds speed will be (10-20) kmph.
