It has been planned to reopen pre-schools and primary schools in the areas where there is no COVID-19 risk, says State Minister Piyal Nishantha.

He said that steps will be taken to commence pre-school and primary grades under a national program in accordance with the health guidelines, and in consultation with the health sector and education authorities.

“Plans are afoot to start pre-schools and primary school grades in a very short period of time,” he said.

Further, the National Policy on Pre-Schools is ready to be handed over to the President within 3 to 4 weeks, according to the State Minister.
