Expecting to reopen airports early next year – Tourism Minister

The government expects to reopen the airports for tourists by early next year, says Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga.

 

“Whether one likes it or not, we will reopen the airports for tourists early next year while adhering to health safety guidelines”, he said.

 

The Minister mentioned this during the debate on Expenditure Heads of the Ministry of Ports and Shipping, Ministry of Tourism, and the State Ministry of Civil Aviation Export Zones at the parliament yesterday (05).

 

 Minister Ranatunga said that the health authorities have been requested to recommend a date to reopen the airports by January 01, 2021.
