The offices of the Department of Motor Traffic in Narahenpita and Werahera will be temporarily closed from Monday (August 16).
This decision has been taken as several employees at the offices have tested positive for COVID-19, State Minister Dilum Amunugama stated.
In a media release, Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, Sumith Alahakoon stated that all the appointments reserved through the mobile number 011 2677877 will be cancelled.
He requested the clients to contact 070 7677877 during weekdays between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm for further clarifications regarding registration and transferring of vehicles.
The mobile number 070 7677977 can be contacted for inquiries regarding driving licenses.
At off-hours, the information can be obtained by sending WhatsApp, Viber or text messages to the aforementioned mobile numbers.
The date of resumption of services is expected to be notified through media in the future, Mr. Alahakoon said further.
