All Buddhist Dhamma schools to reopen on Nov. 28

All Buddhist Dhamma schools across the island will reopen on November 28 (Sunday), the Department of Buddhist Affairs announced.
This was mentioned in a letter directed by Commissioner-General of Buddhist Affairs, Sunanda Kariyapperuma to all Theros of district/divisional Sasanarakshaka Mandala, and district/divisional secretaries.
Resuming in-person lessons at Dhamma Schools is subjected to the updated health guidelines specified by the Ministry of Health in its instructions for selected public activities and work settings for the prevention and control of COVID-19.
As per the guidelines, frequent handwashing, respiratory etiquette and distancing should be practised by teachers to set an example to students.
Dhamma schools must ensure that facilities are available for hand washing and that there are adequate supplies of soap, detergents and cleaning equipment.
Children should be encouraged to wear reusable face masks, when coming from home until they reach the classroom.
The guidelines state that it is not required to wear the mask during learning sessions in the class. However, children should be advised to keep the mask securely in a separate pouch, when it is not worn.
