LP gas companies instructed to accept partly used faulty cylinders

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has instructed LP gas companies to accept partly used LP gas cylinders that are suspected of being faulty from consumers.
The CAA has informed of this to the country’s two main LP gas suppliers – Litro Lanka Ltd. and Laugfs PLC.
Issuing a statement, the CAA chairman says that the companies have also been instructed that in the event that such cylinders are returned the value of the remaining gas in those cylinders has to be calculated and that amount should be deducted when the consumer purchases a new cylinder.
It further said that if any LP gas distributer or agent refuses to accept such a gas cylinders, the consumers are requested to contact the CAA using the following numbers:
