Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe tipped to be next CBSL governor

Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe is tipped to be the next governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, sources told Ada Derana.

He was the former senior deputy governor of the Central Bank.

Reportedly, Dr. Weerasinghe is expected to assume duties as the new Central Bank governor on the 7th of April.

Ajith Nivard Cabraal resigned as the Central Bank governor on Monday (April 04). Taking to his official Twitter account, Cabraal said he tendered his resignation to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

“In the context of all Cabinet Ministers resigning, I have today submitted my resignation as Governor, CBSL to HE President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.”
