The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) says there are adequate stocks of diesel, petrol and kerosene oil to be supplied in the country without any shortages.

The CPC urged the public not to believe rumours of fuel shortages.

In a statement, the petroleum corporation said that the Sapugaskanda refinery has recommenced operations and necessary steps have been taken to continue producing fuel.

Accordingly, all fuels including diesel, petrol and kerosene will be produced at Sapugaskanda Refinery, it said, adding that imported fuel is also available in Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela storage complexes.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation informs that necessary procurement for the future fuel supplies is currently being carried out and requested the public not to be misled by false rumours that claim that there is no fuel and not to have any undue fear.

It is further stated in the statement that the corporation is working to reduce the congestion at the filling stations by speedily distributing the fuel and to distribute the fuel without any shortage.
