There will be no power interruptions tomorrow (Jan 15) the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says.

On Friday (Jan 13), the Public Utilities Commission had given the approval for power cuts of two hours and 20 minutes from January 14 to January 16.

However, in view of Thai Pongal festival, the CEB has decided to provide an uninterrupted power supply tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Department of Examinations stated that the CEB and other relevant authorities have agreed not to impose daily power cuts while the 2022 G.C.E. Advanced Level examination is taking place.

According to the Commissioner-General of Exams, Amith Jayasundara the exam is scheduled to be held from January 23 to February 17.

A total of 331,709 applicants will be sitting for the exam at 2,200 exam centres across the island.
