Namal appointed chair of Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations

SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa has been appointed as the chairperson of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on International Relations of the parliament.

His name was proposed by MP Akila Ellawala and was seconded by MP S.M.M. Muszhaaraff.

Taking to Twitter, the parliamentarian said he is honoured to have received the new appointment.

In addition, chairpersons were appointed to three other Sectoral Oversight Committees yesterday.

MP Buddhika Pathirana was selected to chair the Sectorial Oversight Committee on Increasing Export of Goods & Services while MP Nalaka Bandara Kottegoda was appointed as the chair to the Sectorial Oversight Committee on Energy & Transport.

MP Gamini Waleboda was appointed as the chair to the Sectorial Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis.

Meanwhile, MP Chamal Rajapaksa has been unanimously appointed as the chairperson of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges of the parliament. MP Ali Sabri Raheem had proposed the name of Chamal Rajapaksa, while State Minister Vijitha Berugoda seconded it.
