SLPP appoints new Chairman

Ven. Prof. Uthurawala Dhammarathana Thera has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
The appointment was made at a general party meeting held this morning (22 April), replacing former party Chairman Prof. G. L. Pieris, who had not attended the meeting despite having been previously informed by way of a letter from the party secretary .
The meeting was held at 10:00 a.m. today, under the patronage of Party Leader, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
