
Angelo Mathews missed out on his double century as he was dismissed for 199 and in the end, Sri Lanka posted 397 in the first innings against Bangladesh in the ongoing first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Mathews was last man dismissed, one short of his second Test double hundred, as spinner Nayeem Hasan picked his sixth wicket to finish with 6-105 for hosts Bangladesh.
Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal reached half centuries for the visitors.
At stumps on Day 1, the visitors were 258 for four with Matthew and Dinesh Chandimal on 114 and 34, respectively.
After electing to bat, Sri Lanka lost the wicket of skipper Dimuth Karunaratne early in the first session.
