Overwhelming response to “IBM FORUM event” hosted in Colombo

IBM Forum “Smarter Solutions for smarter Sri Lanka” kicked off in style on the 10th of August at Hotel Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. 


“IBM’s vision is to bring a new level of intelligence to how the world works - how every person, business, organization, government, natural system, and man-made system interacts. Today, IBM’s Smarter solutions like Smarter Healthcare, Smarter Energy
Grids, Smarter Cities, Smarter Transportation, Smarter Banking, Smarter Telecom,
Smarter Education, Smarter Food and Water are helping clients and communities
worldover to transform and now these will be promoted in our country to build smarter
Sri Lanka!” said Chrishan Fernando, Country General Manager, IBM Sri Lanka in his opening address at the event.


Gracing the occasion was the Presidential Advisor for Economic Reforms & Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Sarath Amungama as the chief guest, who enthralled the audience with his interesting speech recalling IBM’s long standing association with clients in Sri Lanka. H also emphasized how today is the ideal time to ramp up the integration of technology into businesses to build smarter community.


Other key luminaries presenting at this event were Jayantha Fernando from ICTA and
Dinesh Saparamadu from SLASSCOM who spoke about the activities under progress by these leading industry bodies to promote adoption of IT within Sri Lanka.


The event also witnessed the launch of IBM’s smarter software portfolio which is completely integrated with its hardware and services offerings, giving customers better performance and the ability to choose from many options. Behind this software is something unique to IBM—a team of more than 100,000 business experts backed by an extensive network of IBM Business Partners with industry expertise.


IBM Forum received overwhelming success in Colombo with over 300 people attending and following various technical and business sessions delivered at the event. People can take advantage of the wealth of information gained at this event to make more intelligent choices regarding IT Infrastructure for their organizations and work smarter.
