Accepting applications for university admission ends today

The deadline for accepting applications to enroll students to state universities for the academic year 2022/23 will end today (05), says the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The applicants qualified for admission into state universities were granted a period of three weeks to submit the applications starting from September 14, 2023.

Accordingly, the deadline for the acceptance of applications will not be extended further, Chairperson of the UGC, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge said.

The results of the 2022 (2023) G.C.E. Advanced Level examination were released on September 04, 2023.

A total of 232,797 school applicants and 31,136 private applicants had sat for the 2022 (2023) Advanced Level examination.

According to Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara, 149,487 school applicants have qualified for university admission while 17,451 private applicants have qualified for universities.
