Young woman arrested for drug peddling

The Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a young woman who is said to have run the narcotics syndicate of “Kalana” – an associate of the notorious criminal figure “Ganemulla Sanjeewa”.
The 27-year-old, who operated under the alias “Ima”, was taken into custody during a raid mounted in Kurukulawa, Ragama last night (Oct. 04).
The STF officers also found 5g and 490mg of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) on the suspect at the time of the arrest.
She is reportedly a resident of Enderamulla in Wattala and was found to have been complicit in two shooting incidents in Dunumala and Negombo which took place on July 14 and August 12, respectively.
The arrestee has been handed over to Ragama police station for onward investigations.
