Flood warning issued for Gin Ganga lifted

The Department of Irrigation has lifted flood warnings issued for the low-lying areas of the Gin Ganga basin.

Accordingly, the relevant decision was taken in view of the lack of significant rainfall over the past 24 hours, while the water-level monitoring stations in Thawalama and Baddegama too, recorded a decrease.

Therefore, warning mentioned in the flood warning for the Gin Ganga basin first issued on 28 September has been lifted.

Meanwhile, the warning mentioned in the flood warning for the Nilwala river basin has been extended for another 24 hours.
